Production update

I have received a couple of commments on my Model T post and a few in person regarding how amazing it is that so many T's were produced so long ago. I am equally amazed by this. Here are a few more facts and figures from the internet about this amazing piece of automotive history.

The model T was produced from 1908 - 1914, with a total production run of over 15,000,000 cars. (in reference to my previous post...just think...at a time when there were 19 million cars in existence, 10 million of them were Ford model T's).

Ford produced the model T engine up until 1941. Almost 200,000 engines were produced after the car production had ceased. These were used for replacements as well as power plants in other industrial equipment.

Yep, it's true, all of us in this country owe a great debt to Mr. Ford. Just imagine your life without a car and think of how different it would be. How many places have you seen in your life that you would never have seen? How many grocery trips would be made on foot or by wagon? What about drive-in movies? Well, I'll save that one for an upcoming post but you get the picture.
